We’re making a major investment in the future of our lake.
The safety and wellbeing of our customers has always been our utmost priority.
As many of you know, we’ve been working hard this year to manage blue-green algae in the lake. While we continue to monitor water quality and follow the appropriate advice, we’ve decided to take an even bigger step.
💙 We’ve invested in a new Hydro BioScience SolaRaft ultrasonic algae management system, which is due to arrive at Horseshoe Lake within the next few months.
The system will work continuously to help manage algae within the lake, alongside our existing water-quality monitoring and lake-management measures.

WHY ARE WE INVESTING IN OUR LAKE? 🌊
Our lake is at the heart of everything we do.
It’s where people swim, paddle, play, learn new skills and create memories.
But like many recreational lakes, it can be affected by naturally occurring algae — particularly during warm weather.
We’ve spent a lot of time this year monitoring the water, testing regularly and putting measures in place when necessary.
Rather than simply reacting when problems occur, we’ve decided to invest in a longer-term algae-management system.
Our new Hydro BioScience SolaRaft uses ultrasonic technology designed to help control algae within the water column. The manufacturer’s documentation describes the Quattro-DB as providing 360° radial coverage, with blue-green algae among the organisms it is designed to affect.
It won’t replace our water testing or responsible lake management — it will become another tool in our toolbox.
And that’s really important to us.
