Kit List

Below is a kit list for our activities, we recommend this is shared with parents as some items are essential.

  • Dry change of clothes
  • Wet shoes/Boots or closed toe trainers that can get wet (these are essential to take part)
  • Towel
  • Water/drink
  • Swimwear (to wear underneath wetsuit)
  • Clothes suitable for getting wet (unless wearing a wetsuit)
  • Lunch (if required)
  • Dry shoes
  • Sun Cream

Holiday Club

Please note:

  • Our Club Days are for children ages 8-14.
  • Children must be dropped off and checked-in IN PERSON by an adult.
  • Activities may not be in the above order and may be altered based on the weather.
  • Add a packed lunch from only £6.95 from Lakeview Cafe

Instructor-led Session Rules

  • All participants must have filled in and submitted a waiver prior to their session.
  • All participants must be signed in and out of the session by a member of staff.
  • All participants must wear a correctly fitted buoyancy aid at all times on the water.
  • All participants must must wear shorts and t-shirt if not wearing a wetsuit.
  • All participants must wear suitable clothing for the weather! We will provide wetsuits, but extra layers and warm clothes for the land are equally as important to bring!
  • Closed-toe shoes must be worn on all of our activities (land and water). Crocs, flip flops, sandals, sliders and jelly shoes are not suitable for our activities.
  • Please bring a packed lunch and snacks, refillable drinks bottle, sunscreen, waterproofs, towels, a change of clothes, and any other weather suitable clothing you may want.
  • Any medication should be bought in a sealed bag with the participants name on it.

Day Launch Rules:

One booking is for one craft, one person and one buoyancy aid. All water users must have filled out a waiver ahead of their session.

You must wear a buoyancy aid on the water, if you do not have your own we supply you with one included in the price (subject to availability). Wetsuits are not mandatory, but we do have a range of sizes available to hire (subject to availability).

We do not accept, powered craft, inflatable dinghies or pool toys as suitable craft for this product.

Craft Hire Rules

  • All participants must wear a correctly fitted buoyancy aid at all times on the water.
  • You must stay with your hired craft/s at all times.
  • You can request a wetsuit on arrival (subject to availability)
  • You can only launch and land from the beach, you should only land on the island or the surrounding bank of the lake if it’s an emergency!
  • Please keep an eye on the beach for the different coloured flags as they indicate your time: Green (No need to act), yellow-15 minutes (make your way back towards beach), Red- 5 minutes (return to beach)
  • Children under 8 must be on the same craft as an adult over the age of 18. They do not require a booking.
  • Children aged between 8 and 16 must be accompanied on the water by an adult over 18 on a 1 adult : 3 children ratio. The responsible adult must stay with them at all times. Young persons aged between 16 and 18 do not require an adult to accompany them on the water, but must have an adult over the age of 18 present onsite throughout their session.
  • All sessions are subject to our Terms and Conditions which can be found on our website under “Information”.

Paddleboard/Kayak Hire 

  • Hire does not come with instruction of use.
  • Children under 8 years of age are not charged as part of the booking, but still need to be listed in the booking and signed in. 
  • Children under 8 are required to use the same craft as a parent or guardian over the age of 18 years of age. 
  • Children over 8 can have their own craft but must stay with an adult on the water at all times. 
  • Participants 16 and over do not need an adult over 18 to join them on the water, but an adult over 18 must remain on the HLAC site while they partake in activities. 
  • Bookings are per person and not per craft, anyone between 8 and 16 must have their own ticket that has been pre-paid for. 
  • There must be 1 adult for every 3 children on your booking, if this is not followed you will be turned away and your booking lost.
  • Each craft hire is 45 minutes long with the exception of the family ticket which is 110 minutes long.
  • All persons over 18 who accompany a child are responsible for that child, throughout the hire period and whilst on our site.
  • All bookings are offered per person. With the exception of multi-person craft.
  • Return all equipment at the end of hire in the condition in which I hired.
  • Stay with the craft for the duration of the hire period, and will not remove it from the assigned area of use. 
  • Paddleboards are not provided with a large central fin as these are not required for paddling. If you require a fin, a deposit item will be taken and returned at the end of the session on the return of an undamaged fin. In the case of a broken fin, a £50 replacement fee will be charged in return for the deposit item.

Katakanu/Mega SUP Hire

  • Hire does not come with instruction of use.
  • Katakanus seat up to 6 people, Mega SUPs take up to 8 people.
  • Children under 8 years of age are not charged as part of the booking, but still need to be listed in the booking and signed in. Under 8s, are included in the capacity above.
  • Children under 8 are required to use the same craft as a parent or guardian over the age of 18 years of age.
  • Children over 8 can have their own craft but must stay with an adult on the water at all times.
